Greek Handmade Bronze Helmet decorated with a snake on the Crest of the Helmet. Copy of an Ancient Greek Corinthian War Helmet.

The snake was Symbol of healing, guardian and protector of sacred places and objects. The ancient Greeks revered snakes for their wisdom and healing powers (as in the cult of Asklepios, the god of medicine), but also feared them for their tremendous powers.

The snake appears as an aggressive defender in many ancient Greek myths; in fact the name 'Medusa', the snake-haired Gorgon translates from the Greek as 'guardian' or 'protectress'.

The Romans regarded the snake as the continuing spirit (or 'genius') of the family unit

Similar helmets were worn by the Greeks during the Persian Wars.

The Greek key motif, also known as the 'meandros', appears throughout ancient Greek art, and it is a symbol of infinity and unity.
The Corinthian style helmet appeared at the end of the 8th c. BC. and remain in use until the Classical period.

The Corinthian helmet was also developed in the Peloponnese during the Seventh Century BC. These Ancient Greek helmets quickly spread throughout the Mediterranean world during Classical Antiquity and have been excavated in Greece, Italy, Sicily, Sardinia, Spain, Serbia, Bulgaria, the Crimea, and Crete. They were perfectly suited for hoplites fighting in the phalanx formations that characterized warfare in Greece. Corinthian helmets were very popular during Classical Antiquity and became closely associated with Greece, Greek culture, and hoplites. As such, the iconic Corinthian helmet was often depicted in art. The helmets of Greek Corinthian color are techniques from the technical images to almond images, with the messages that require a nose and the various separate cheek tools that do not have rounded or articulated dimensions and the contents of the screen. The careful impression of the Corinthian helmet is a theatrical threat.
The Corinthian helmets are very versatile and were produced for many years of questions in interdisciplinary workshops, differentiated workshops, differentiation and disposal.
