Greek handmade bronze statue of Asclepius.
God of medicine, healing, rejuvenation and physicians
Asclepius Greek: Ἀσκληπιός is a hero and god of medicine in ancient Greek religion and mythology.
He is the son of Apollo and Coronis, or Arsinoe, or of Apollo alone.
Asclepius represents the healing aspect of the medical arts; his daughters are Hygieia ("Hygiene", the goddess of cleanliness), Iaso (the goddess of recuperation from illness), Aceso (the goddess of the healing process), Aegle (the goddess of good health) and Panacea (the goddess of universal remedy).
He has several sons as well.
The rod of Asclepius, a snake-entwined staff, remains a symbol of medicine today.
Those physicians and attendants who served this god were known as the Therapeutae of Asclepius.
With raw material silver, bronze, copper and aluminum, we create works of art and make museum copies, with absolute respect for the detail and aesthetics of the original. Inspired by the timeless Greek art, we support and promote the cultural heritage and tradition of our country.
The combination of experience, well-trained craftsmen, selected raw materials, strict control in production and careful packaging, characterize the company's products for their consistently high quality.
The idol has been cast using the traditional 'lost wax' method.
As nothing is mass-produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination and colouring.
Each piece is, therefore, unique.
